Two-Factor Authentication

{info} Your data security continues to be a top priority for us, which is why we are pleased to announce that we have enabled two-factor authentication (2FA) for our Sumopayroll application. 2FA provides an additional layer of protection against unauthorized access, helping to ensure your data stays secure on the web.

Enable Two-Factor Authentication:

Step 1:

Go to Security (or) My Profile --> Security tab.

Step 2:

Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication ON/OFF switch to enable 2FA. Upon click on user will be prompted to enter mobile number. Enter the mobile number and then click on Next button.

Step 3:

Upon click on Next, an authentication code will be sent to the mobile number which is entered. Now enter the authentication code and click on the Verify button. Then a successful message will be displayed as Two-Factor Authentication will be enabled.

{primary} NOTE: Max 5 times per day is allowed to log in with authentication code. If you have reached the max limit of SMS OTP requests(5) for the day, please choose email to receive authentication code as there is no limit for Email.

Disable Two-Factor Authentication:

Step 1:

Go to Security (or) My Profile --> Security tab.

Step 2:

Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication ON & OFF switch to disable 2FA.

Step 3:

After click on that switch a confirmation popup will appear with YES or NO buttons.

Step 3:

Click on Yes to disable. Then a successful message will be displayed as Two-Factor Authentication will be disabled.

Updation of mobile number:

Step 1:

Go to Security (or) My Profile --> Security tab.

Step 2:

Click on the edit icon to update the mobile number. Upon click on edit, a popup will appear with the message “To help keep your account safe, Sumopayroll wants to make sure it’s really you trying to update mobile number” and prompts the user to choose how he/she wants to receive authentication code.

Step 3:

Select Email/Mobile number and click on Next button and enter authentication code.

Step 4:

After entering the authentication code click on Next button to enter New Mobile number.

Step 5:

Enter the New mobile number to Update and click on Next button then authentication code will be sent to New mobile number and by entering the new authentication code, new mobile number will be updated. Then a successful message will be displayed.
